Brideview United |
Brideview United Football Club is located in Tallow County Waterford in the Republic of Ireland. The club plays association Football or soccer as it is sometimes known. The clubs home ground is Bride View Park where there is a floodlit playing area and a clubhouse consisting of dressing rooms and a gym. Brideview United Football club was founded in May 1972. The seven founders were Des McCarthy (a cousin of the current Irish national team manager) who became first Chairman, Joe Tobin ( Secretary), Tony Coughlan, John Russell, Maurice Tobin, Leonard Fraser and Pat Coughlan. Denis and John O Connor of Curraglass later joined the committee. In 1995 the club paid £20,000 for 10½ acres on which they have built a new club house and laid out two full size playing areas complete with flood lights. The club now has some of the best facilities in junior football. The club has a total of 132 registered players playing in seven teams. These are divided into junior teams and schoolboys teams. The teams play in the Red House League which caters for clubs in the West Waterford and East Cork geographical area. |
