Tallow GAA Club
Our club is located in the town of Tallow in West Waterford in Ireland.
Within this page we will help you to understand our national games,
give you a brief history of our club, tell you about our club.

But first some information on the four games catered for by the Gaelic
Athletic Association - An Cumann Luthchleas Gael.

Our Games

Hurling

An ancient game played with stick and ball, hurling is one of the
fastest field games in the world. Men play in teams of fifteen. Women
play camogie in teams of twelve. The ball may be struck with the
hurling stick, kicked, or struck with the open hand but may only be
lifted directly from the ground using the hurling stick. The hurling stick
may be used to dispossess players when they release the ball from
the hand. Physical contact is allowed, shoulder to shoulder.

Gaelic Football

Gaelic football is played by women or men in teams of fifteen. The ball
may be carried for up to four paces and then bounced or released to
the toe, kicked, or struck with the open hand or fist, in any direction.
When played by men, it may not be picked directly from the ground.
Physical contact is allowed, shoulder to shoulder.

Camogie

Camogie is the native field game akin to hurling, played by women
and girls, and is renowned for skill and speed, for personal enjoyment
by the player and for appeal to the spectator.
